Thirties’ Story

Updated: Aug 12, 2021

I am the least person you’d ask about makeup but my experience in skincare says otherwise. I was raised in an entrepreneurial and employment environment. My father had his own construction business while my mother is a top executive in a multinational firm.

Being busy and multitasking are normal in our household. This manifested how I packed my activities as a student and until now my schedule as a professional. My student years are divided into school and sports. I just added audio-visual and events coordination projects during my bachelor’s and master's degrees.

I bumped into a network marketing company that sells health and beauty products when I was about to finish my master’s. I stayed with them full-time for 10 years. That experience honed my skills in retailing skincare products. Through the years of recruiting and distributing, I’ve become aware of the perception that people have of network marketing companies. They say that it’s a shady business, sometimes a scam even. But you know what? The right company who puts emphasis on personal development, whether in network marketing or in different fields, is a great company. I was lucky enough to be a part of an organization that helped me improve as a professional. The 10 years I’ve been with the network company gave me enough passive income that afforded my shift from retailing products to social media marketing.

Shifting paths give you a lot of feels - uncertainty, what ifs, and anxiety over finding something that you’ll be passionate about. On the other end, new beginnings clean your slate and make you realize your strengths, clarify your wants, and build new goals. The shift to social media marketing made me realize that I really love numbers, forecasting revenue projections, putting ideas into reality, and of course, continuous learning - all of which led me to social media marketing and now, digital marketing.

The first company that I managed as a social media manager was a basketball app start-up, followed by a gym that caters to swordsmanship, then a travel company. Prior to founding HERstory S.V.R.™ with Twenties and Forties, I landed a social media manager role in a skincare clinic where I met both Twenties and Forties.

This is the start of a new journey that I hope you can join me with.

Sincerely,
